Good news for all South Americans, and Brazilians in particular, who are planning a trip to Eastern and Southern Africa. Ethiopia's flag carrier, Ethiopian Airlines, has announced plans to establish a new three times weekly link between its main hub in Addis Ababa and Sao Paulo in Brazil in December 2012. The service will be the first regular flight to South America for the East African airline.
The Sao Paulo flight will be operated through Lome, Togo, on board of one of Ethiopian Airlines's brand-new Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
The airline will also start new flights to Toronto (Canada) in July 2012 and to the Namibian capital Windhoek in October/November 2012.
Ethiopian Airlines is currently operating international flights to more than 60 destinations in Africa, Europa, the Americas and Asia. The airline is a Star Alliance member since December 2011. The Star Alliance network is offering more than 21,555 daily flights to 1,356 airports in 193 countries.
