South Africa: Port Elizabeth to launch Integrated Public Transport System (IPTS)

update (28 Nov 2012): The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality will be launching its Integrated Public Transport System (IPTS) on 29 November 2012 at the Uitenhage Town Hall starting at 09:00.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality in South Africa's Eastern Cape will finally get its long-awaited Integrated Public Transport System (IPTS). The service, which is named "Libhongolethu" (meaning: "Our Pride"), will be launched next week (week #49). Initially the buses will run on seven routes between Port Elizabeth, Despatch and Uitenhage and will, for example, connect the CBD of Port Elizabeth with the city's international airport.
