The most social and important place in any hostel or self-catering lodge, except for the bar of course, is the communal kitchen. It is the place where everyone gets together, where you can cook your meals or wait for the leftovers. To give you an idea on the supermarket prices in South Africa, we set up a list of what we think are the most typical items travellers on the road usually buy.
