Botswana issues malaria warning!

Botswana's Ministry of Health and Wellness is warning that Botswana is currently experiencing a high level of malaria transmission following the recent heavy rains.  There has been an increase in the number of cases of malaria cases in the following malaria prone areas:
Cases of the disease have also been reported in areas in Botswana that do not usually have malaria. These include:
According to the permanent secretary in Botswana's Ministry of Health and Wellness, Shenaaz el-Halabi, 672 new cases of malaria have been recorded in the country subsequent to the recent downpours, 60% of which were registered in the Okavango area (as of 15 March 2017).
